My Swanky Home
My Swanky Home needed a re-brand and new eCommerce website to better reflect their tasteful on-trend home decor items. I also consulted and lead the curation and cohesive visual language system so the brand voice was more hip soho loft and less traditional suburban.

The former logo did not represent the new brand’s tone. The burgundy color and ornate swirls were generic in font and outdated in color. We wanted a minimal logo with room for a tagline that looked great in black to allow the promotional graphics and product colors take the focus.
Three typography collections were presented and from this a final typography system was built based on a combination of the presentations. Two display fonts, Nightstar and Baskerville, were chosen for variety and what works most relevant for the featured image. Brandon Grotesque was chosen for all other cases as it’s available in a variety of weights and easy to read for UI/Function, body copy, and headlines.
Final decisions in action
Magento eCommerce Design
I chose the Magento theme to base the design off of and customized the typography as well as customizations such as a carousel for Instagram reviews from customers, featured tips in product overview pages, and a template for a overview page that is based on a ‘get the look’ collection.
